Our hearts are bleeding and eyes are tearing
A STATEMENT ON ARTSAKH BY AMAA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/CEO, ZAVEN KHANJIAN
We feel like the Apostle, hard pressed, perplexed, persecuted, struck down…
No human language can capture our anguish and pain.
We are speechless, heartbroken, tearful, helpless, frustrated, angry, indignant, sleepless…
Our hearts are bleeding and eyes are tearing.
Yet, we rush back to the Creator whom we are tempted to blame and accuse. The One whom we accuse of deafness, silence and indifference. The Father against whom we want to raise our fists. We approach him for hope, comfort, guidance and wisdom. We fall down before him with tears, prayer, humility.
Encouraged by God, we rise with fierce determination. We echo the Apostle’s sentiments “We are hard pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.”
We have work to do and a God given assignment to attend to.
We shall reach out to the people of Artsakh, wherever they are.
We shall welcome them as we would host Jesus.
We shall listen to them with understanding.
We shall tend to their needs with humility.
We shall serve them with love and compassion.
We shall provide for their needs with generosity and kindness.
We shall uplift, empower and help them restore their dignity.
We shall pray for them in tears, with faith and hope.
This is AMAA’s mission of love, faith and service.
